Go Now, Before they Wake

This is a short story set in a speculative decolonial Seattle futurism that follows a young Latine girl on a journey to rediscover her identity and reactivate her sense of self in the face of complacency and comfort to combat the cyclical and destructive nature of capitalism, colonialism, and climatic change both within herself and within her community. This blend of fiction and reality centers a thriving Afro, Indigenous, and Latino futurism to convey the story of resilience, of struggle, and the messiness and wonder that hope can create to inspire real change in the face of overwhelming obstacles.
