How do we reconcile the land which we live from and the land we live on?

Following this question asked by philosopher of science Bruno Latour, this project focuses on the history of tattoos. Tracing the ways in which indigenous and Western cultures use this technique of mark making, storytelling, and sanctifying. This project analyzes our relationship with the Earth as a body. It explores themes of consent, trauma, and the terrestrial, and ways in which we might one day repair the relationship we once had with the geoderma that we inhabit. The graphics were developed using AI programs and compiled as a children’s book to exemplify ourselves as children of the Earth.
